Job Description

At Eataly, this role is referred to as the Beverage Lead. At Eataly, beverage is equally as important as food! Eataly features a vast selection of premium and unique Italian wines and drinks at all price points. Our guests can even enjoy a glass of wine while shopping!

A Beverage Lead works alongside the Beverage Manager to execute the beverage program at an Eataly location. Reports directly to the Beverage Manager and reports functionally to the Restaurant Assistant General Manager of the assigned restaurant outlet.

  • Trains managers, servers and chefs about wines and beverage pairings at daily pre-shift meetings

  • Ensures all service staff is educated on and can speak confidently about the beverage options on the menu and guides the guests to an enjoyable experience

  • Assists in the scheduling and supervising of front of house personnel

  • Shares knowledge and appreciation for Italian food and beverage with all guests, providing excellent and responsible beverage service

  • Works towards target revenue per guests and revenue per month as set by managers

  • Updates wine and other beverage resources and information

  • Maintains an accurate daily wine and beverage inventory, assisting with stocking and cellar maintenance

  • Ensures the restaurant POS system is in line with menu pricing and that pricing is up to date

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sommelier/wine-related experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Italian food and beverage knowledge preferred

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
