Salary Range: $57.10 - $67.14 /hour

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Operating Room Supervisor operates in a supervisory capacity responsible for day-to-day oversight of the operating room. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day activities/operations/quality/safety within the OR, ensuring that staffing, equipment and supplies meet the requirements for safe patient care. This includes facilitating changes due to extended cases and additional bookings. This role oversees and provides guidance and supervision to all staff in the OR.

Essential Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree
  • Peri operative Nursing Certificate
  • Valid registration as a regulated health professional with the associated professional College
  • Minimum of 5 years Peri operative Care experience in an acute care hospital
  • 5 years' Operating Room Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation: ORNAC standards, IPAC
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to motivate and guide individuals tactfully and respectfully
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational, information/data management skills
  • Must demonstrate well-developed judgment and decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate skills that enable them to work independently and, in a group, or team environment/collaborative partnerships
  • Demonstrated self-awareness and an understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses in pursuit of continuous improvement and advancement of leadership skills
  • Must be customer focused, demonstrate an understanding of conflict resolution and able to offer and receive constructive feedback
  • Able to work all shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

Immunization Requirements

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
