Senior Storage Engineer
About the role
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage file storage solutions, including: Advanced file system and share management (SMB/NFS). Quota design, access control, and capacity planning. Design, implement, and manage block storage environments, including: LUN lifecycle management. LUN masking and host integration. Architect and manage SAN infrastructures: FC / iSCSI zoning and design. Performance, resiliency, and availability optimization. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot replication solutions: Synchronous and asynchronous replication. Support for disaster recovery and business continuity use cases . Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex storage incidents. Plan and execute storage migrations, upgrades, and lifecycle activities. Act as a technical reference point for storage topics. Mentor junior team members and promote best practices. Collaborate with other infrastructure teams and vendors. Produce and review technical documentation and standards. Gather and understand customer requirements (capacity, performance, availability, resilience). Guide customers in architectural choices, recommending appropriate storage solutions and designs. Translate business and application requirements into technical storage architectures. Advise customers on best practices, design trade-offs, and risk mitigation. Support customers during design reviews, workshops, and technical discussions. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposed architectures are feasible, scalable, and supportable. Provide technical leadership during implementation and delivery phases.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms. Deep knowledge of: File and block storage architectures. SAN technologies (Fibre Channel and/or iSCSI). Storage performance and capacity management. Solid understanding of replication concepts (sync vs async). Proven experience in complex troubleshooting scenarios . Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Dell Technologies (PowerStore, PowerMax, PowerScale). Hands-on experience with HPE storage solutions (Primera, Alletra, 3PAR). Experience in virtualized and mission-critical environments. Interaction with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Nice To Have
Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, NetApp, IBM equivalent). Experience with non-disruptive migrations. Automation and scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Salary Range
75000 -90000
