About the role

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Formulate efficient operational programs that maximize machine utilization and product quality to assure customer expectations are met;
  • Complete and maintain the program documentation and file system;
  • Be responsive to the short-term needs of the shop to keep the NC machines running at 100% efficiency;
  • Contribute to the cost reduction program by actively seeking and reporting opportunities for reduced costs;
  • Maintain awareness of new ideas in processes, tools, methods, etc. and apply them effectively to NC manufacturing;
  • Develop and maintain open communication with all personnel, including accepting suggestions and instruction;
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Manufacturing Engineer to update routers for part programs created or modified;
  • Develop the programs for CNC lathes and mills;
  • Ensure communication to CNC machines is running properly;
  • Search drawings for CNC programs;
  • Assist Supervisors, Quality Assurance & Conversational operators with troubleshooting;
  • Set up new machines and train operators;
  • Attend meetings on NCR’s, variances etc.;
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies;
  • Perform other work-related tasks as required, as assigned.

Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience) :

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in programming or 5 years minimum running and programming machines;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with CanCad software programing
  • FeatureCam software experience is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Mazatrol programing is considered an asset

Skills:

  • Ability to set up tight tolerances;
  • Shop safety knowledge;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Able to work in groups and under minimal supervision.

  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Training (completed in-house)
  • HSE Orientation (completed in-house)
  • Forklift Training (completed in-house) Lifting and Rigging Training (completed in-house)
