Field Service Representative

Brief Description
Marshall Land Systems is seeking a Field Service Representative to join our team in Ottawa, ON. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Support Maintenance, the Field Service Representative will be responsible for providing on-site customer support, performing fault diagnosis and repairs, and executing both reactive and planned maintenance activities for in-service equipment.
This role will also provide technical support to Marshall Land Systems’ production and specialist project teams as required, ensuring the successful delivery of customer solutions and operational readiness.
Your responsibilities in this role
Carry out inspections and testing of projects using engineering drawings and associated design data to standards. Carry out repairs and modifications on military equipment and systems. Undertake scheduled and ad hoc electrical/mechanical maintenance, fault investigations and diagnostics of products on the full portfolio of MLS supported products. Implement repairs & modifications to electrical, electromechanical and mechanical systems. Work across business functions supporting other areas of MLS ensuring all projects and taskings are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard. Work in accordance with Health & Safety management systems and policies and undertake risk assessments pertaining to MLS systems at customer sites. Understand customer requirements, providing a positive image of MLS whilst promoting its capabilities. Work with the Training Team to provide support and guidance of equipment to end-users. Generate and submit accurate inspection reports, in agreed formats and timescales. Understand and adhere to all MLS processes and procedures. Good understanding of engineering principles to interact effectively with Design Engineers. Proven commitment to delivering excellence. Respond to practical queries using initiative and judgement to provide a customer-orientated service to internal and external stakeholders. Travel at short notice to carry out inspections and repairs in Canada, as well as internationally (as assigned), and potentially in military operational areas. Other duties as assigned.
Apply if you have most of the following
Red Seal Industrial Electrician trade certification. Master Electrician License. At least 5 years relevant work experience, preferably in technical field work or as a technologist. Knowledge of 3 phase electrical installations. Competence in electrical systems associated with military Equipment/Systems highly desirable. Able to generate and complete relevant documentation including electrical and mechanical survey reports to required standards. Able to understand and work to engineering drawings and associated design data. Ability to work alone at customer locations or as part as a team within the production environment with the ability to interact effectively within both groups. Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent time management and administrative skills. Good understanding of engineering and engineering hygiene principles sufficient to be able to interface effectively with Design Engineers. Desirably able to set up & operate generators including Field Electrical Power Supplies (FEPS). Be qualified to carry out inspections. Proven commitment to delivering excellence. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally; willingness to work in operational areas if necessary. Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations and security regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
