The Electrical Supervisor reports directly to the Industrial Construction Director. He she is the primary point of contact with the Contractor for all matters related to work coordination, execution, and communication with the Client Representative. He ensures that contractors carry out their tasks safely, in accordance with the plans and specifications, and within the established schedule.

What you will do

  • Evaluate the progress of contractors on the construction site.

  • Coordinate with engineers on technical aspects and the implementation of change requests.

  • Review construction drawings prior to implementation and validate the scope of work against the contractor’s construction contract.

  • Identify execution challenges when possible and confirm with the contractor that work methods take site-specific conditions into account.

  • Analyze technical questions and answers with the contractor and engineers, and initiate the change request process if necessary (in coordination with the contractor).

  • Organize site visits with contractors and other stakeholders, as needed, for tender packages.

  • Coordinate with the site safety team when required.

  • Coordinate with the environmental team when required.

  • Ensure that the contractor holds all site-specific work permits and required licenses before starting work.

  • Collaborate with the health and safety prevention team, when necessary, to review work methods and ensure they are safe.

This role could be for you if you have

  • Technical training in mechanical engineering (DEC) or equivalent experience.

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Electrical Construction Management or in a similar role within a heavy industrial environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in managing relationships with contractors.

  • Knowledge of the context of mechanical equipment construction.

  • Familiarity with major equipment installed in industrial construction projects.
