The Ministry of SaskBuilds & Procurement, Central Vehicle Agency (CVA), located in Regina is seeking one highly-motivated and organized individual to fill one permanent full-time positions of Fleet Service Consultant to assist in maintaining an inventory of fleet vehicles used by a diverse client group.

CVA provides a full range of vehicle rental, leasing, and fleet management services to government and other public sector organizations. Primary duties include overseeing the required maintenance authorization and purchase of repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles, while ensuring compliance with all applicable vehicle legislation, regulations, safety standards, legal requirements and financial policies, as well as researching and developing cost-effective vehicle repair solutions through various methods of cost-benefit and financial analysis. This position will also ensure completion of and/or audit safety inspections while ensuring compliance with special requirements and applicable safety standards such as provincial and federal regulations and legislation as well as compliance with DOT and/or CMVSS for Ambulances, Police Vehicles and regular buses. Knowledge of NSC would be an asset.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations, safety standards, legal requirements, financial policies, administrative processes, theories, principles and practices related to mechanical and vehicle repairs;
  • Journeyperson’s Automotive Mechanical Repair Certificate combined with demonstrated experience in applying the required skills;
  • Leadership: Ability to provide clear, concise instruction, verbally and in writing, on detailed tasks to individuals and/or groups of co-workers to enhance their skills and improve job performance;
  • Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose technical problems associated with repairs to determine the cause of the problem and provide a workable solution in a reasonable time frame, following applicable acts and regulations, policies, standards and guidelines;
  • Team/Independence: Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member to complete work assignments to meet client needs and build positive work relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Organizational: Ability to plan, organize, prioritize a high volume workload taking into consideration task complexity, frequently changing and ongoing deadlines, with multiple reporting relationships;
  • Analytical: Ability to observe, assess and accurately measure the condition of equipment, components, systems and vehicles to maintain proper working order through various methods of cost-benefit and financial analysis;
  • Technical: Ability to accurately apply standard safety precautions and practices according to established protocols, safety guidelines and existing legislation to protect co-workers, the public and the environment; and
  • Technical: Ability to use and develop word documents, spreadsheets and computer generated reports along with utilizing basic knowledge and experience in administration processes and/or financial management.

The successful candidate will also be service-oriented, approachable, supportive, resourceful, confident, detail-oriented, and a team player. A current driver’s license is also required.

This position is part of a team providing high-quality and responsive customer service to a wide variety of clients throughout Saskatchewan.
