Position Summary
Leo's Donair is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Assurance Technician to ensure the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of all products manufactured in our facility.
Responsibilities
Ensure food safety and quality of all products produced. Perform inspections of production processes, employee practices, and compliance with Health Canada regulations. Collect product and environmental samples for testing, including allergens and sanitation verification. Implement Quality Assurance plans and verify all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure all quality and production forms are completed accurately and consistently. Perform internal audits. Conduct mock recall exercises. Perform food safety, food fraud, and crisis management exercises. Ensure all employee training records are documented and kept up to date. Update QA forms and SOPs as needed, implement changes, and train employees on revised procedures. Verify the effectiveness of the plant HACCP plan. Attend HACCP team meetings and ensure all action items are documented and completed. Perform QA activities such as equipment calibration and verification. Act as the liaison between Leo's Donair and external quality-related contractors.
QualificationsRequired
Food industry experience. Experience participating in food safety audits and certifications. Experience reviewing food labels. Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Food/Biological Sciences, or a closely related field.
Preferred
Quality Assurance experience in the food processing industry. Gluten testing experience. HACCP Certification. Experience with Nutrition Facts Table (NFT) regulations and label submission processes.
Experience
Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
