Job Description
How You’ll Make an Impact:
-
Responsible for the successful delivery of events while managing event process including executing client meetings, preparing event details, monitoring event budgets and sourcing external resources as required
-
Create sales on site for future events and work with marketing to promote banquet and convention space
-
Collaborate with all required departments when planning and executing an event and ensure timely completion of all event components as per client requirements
-
Work with Executive Chef and the client to develop appropriate menu offerings
-
Be available to clients during events while observing and managing key service components
-
Coordinate non-food supplies required for each event, including but not limited to, linens and laundry suppliers, staffing agencies, equipment rental companies and florists
-
Coordinate the layout for the event space according to the client requirements and health & safety requirements
-
Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed by all staff working during set-up for events and event day
-
Keep financial and administrative records; work with Finance to ensure billing accuracy and assist in collection of accounts as required

Oversee, update, and maintain Catering software
-
Maximize revenue while providing value and exceptional service to clients
Qualifications
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
-
Post-secondary education required; in a related field, Hospitality and/or Event Planning is a strong asset
-
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in planning and executing medium to large scale events
-
The ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently
-
Excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills
-
Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, is required; knowledge and experience in the event management booking software is preferred.

Strong initiative and hospitality orientation; Project Management, organizational and prioritizing skills; problem solving and detail oriented.
-
Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism, coupled with sound judgment, discretion and ability to maintain confidential information
-
Proven ability to successfully communicate with a diverse client base
