Job Description Microchip is producing best in class products in terms of power, speed, area and quality using cutting edge implementation methodologies and commercial software tools. Microchip is actively developing products in a wide variety of end markets and technologies, including the some of the most advanced transistor processes available.

As a member of the CAD/Methodology team you will help to develop & enhance EDA tool/flows to ensure Microchip is producing best in class products in terms of power, speed, area and quality using cutting edge implementation methodologies and commercial software tools. Microchip is actively developing products in a wide variety of end markets and technologies, including the some of the most advanced transistor processes available.

As a CAD Design For Test Engineer the candidate will support DFT related activities throughout the company. This position puts you on a career path to becoming a DFT expert within Microchip and, perhaps, the industry.

  • Provide DFT support for Microchip engineers world-wide, assist with implementation of DFT fl ows and help debug issues
  • Recommend design modifi cations to improve tool usage and effi ciency and improve test coverage
  • Work as a member of a team to develop DFT fl ows and methodologies
  • Evaluate DFT related EDA/CAD tools
  • Interface with tool vendors to resolve tool and fl ow issues
  • Develop and deliver tool and fl ow training
  • Stay up-to-date on new DFT technologies by attending conferences/presentations and reading papers/journals

Requirements/Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • A self-starter, organized and motivated to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of digital design and HDLs (Verilog and/or VHDL)
  • Knowledge of digital systems and computer architectures
  • Experience with simulation and hardware verifi cation/debug
  • Strong programming and scripting skills with languages such as C/C++, Perl, Python, Tcl, Bash, C shell

Travel Time 0% - 25%

Pay Range We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. The annual base salary range for this position is 76,000-114,000.*
