Job Description
The Strategy Execution function has a mandate to drive strategic initiatives across the Fund, including the CEO priorities. In doing so, we will accelerate the One Fund evolution and pursuit of CPPIB’s ambition.
Job Summary
As a Manager, Strategy Execution, you will support the following group activities:
- Support Strategy Execution MDs and Directors, to successfully execute on complex strategic initiatives and help build strategy execution capabilities within CPPIB more broadly.
- Foster cross-functional partnerships to deliver key business outcomes, enhance efficiency and achieve long-term business goals.
Responsibilities:

Support strategic initiatives within the Strategy Execution Function (SEF) including making recommendations across the project lifecycle from project set up to execution and close-out. This support will have a focus on clarity of the business opportunity, defining business outcomes and OKRs, actively contributing to project execution, evaluating different project approaches, developing recommendations for governance and budget, identification of risks, defining roadblock mitigation strategies and on-going change management recommendations so initiatives are set up to achieve business outcomes and desired impact.

Support includes employing strategic problem-solving, structured analysis, content generation, risk identification, stakeholder engagement and guidance to Senior leaders to evaluate options and to form recommendations for effective decision-making by Senior leaders throughout the project.

Provide ongoing, comprehensive support to MDs and Directors, SEF in support of specific strategic initiatives. This includes documenting outcomes of meetings with accountable executives, project team meetings, ensuring we are capturing the correct actions/risks/outcomes. Develop mitigation plans to remove hurdles and barriers to reduce risk of overall project. Prepare presentations summarizing the above work, via creative use of tables, charts and other visuals. Measure impact and value delivered by strategic initiatives, collaborating with other team members.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor business performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Develop best-in-class communications for the relevant Steering Committees, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategic goals, articulation of known risks and/or ways to strengthen achievement of business outcomes.
Qualifications
-
5+ years’ experience of relevant experience in strategic transformation and execution, managing change initiatives ideally at the enterprise level.

Previous experience in Consulting or Investment Management, or other financial service roles

Able to analyse and synthesize complex information and identify key ‘so-whats’ that will drive progress on initiatives.

Ability to use innovative tools (including AI) to ensure risks and opportunities are identified and issues are raised.

Strong stakeholder management, inspiring engagement amongst key stakeholders.
-
Experience working on complex projects or initiatives, understanding change and stakeholder management methodologies and other strategic frameworks.
-
Ability to develop materials and reporting for Senior management.
-
Able to analyse and synthesize complex information and identify key ‘so-whats’ that will drive progress on initiatives.

Able to evaluate tools (including AI) that will be valuable to the SEF Group and can deliver excellent user experience across stakeholders including senior management.

Applies AI-enabled analysis and automation tools to accelerate problem-solving, improve insights and strengthen decision quality across complex, cross-enterprise initiatives

Ability to communicate in verbal and written forms complicated or complex information into digestible and easily understandable formats.

Critical thinking and Problem solving (e.g., overcoming barriers, suggesting creative solutions, identifying risks and possible mitigating approaches, and use of data and insight).

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Confidence communicating and interacting with peers and other team members, internal and external stakeholders, including sometimes senior management.
