The Payroll Lead under the direction of the Payroll Manager is responsible for full cycle payroll processes, leads the day-to-day responsibilities of Payroll Administrators/Assistant as well as other assigned duties and initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for full cycle processing of multiple high complexity payrolls, in a timely and accurate manner using PeopleSoft 9.2 application. Verifies payroll edit reports and balance the payrolls prior to submission.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Payroll Administrators, as well as be a first point of contact.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Advise and keep abreast of payroll related legislative requirements.
  • Preparation of Third-Party remittances - Federal and Provincial Taxes, WCB, EHT,etc.
  • Preparation and distribution of T2200’s, T2200S, TP64s, T4s, RL1s and T4As.
  • Liaise and communicate with the branch and head offices as required.
  • Creation and Approval of wires/payment recalls and sending payrolls to the bank.
  • Responsibility to train other Payroll employees.
  • GL processing within PeopleSoft HR/Finance application.
  • Creation of pay cycle run controls.
  • Processing ROE’s – Service Canada.
  • Creating, maintaining, and running reports in Peoplesoft 9.2
  • Loading Files in Peoplesoft
  • Loading Admin Payroll to timesheets.
  • Create Annual Payroll Calendars and upload to paradigm.
  • PeopleSoft Tax upgrades, Payroll and Benefits – participation in testing.
  • Month end requirements as assigned.
  • Loading information into Paradigm as required.
  • Auditing PeopleSoft
  • Participation in gathering information for internal and external audits.
  • Work on Projects as required.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Adhere to Bayshore policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Work flexible hours as required to meet deliverables and business needs.
  • Actively participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.

Work Location : Bayshore Healthcare, National Service Center, Mississauga ( Hybrid )

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in the capacity of a Payroll Administrator.
  • MS office applications –Excel – V Look ups and Pivots, Word
    • 5 years PeopleSoft 9.2 Payroll and Benefits application
    • 2 years PeopleSoft 9.2 Query
  • +2 years T2200 preparation
  • +2 years Benefits experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently or in a team environment, including advanced communication skills both written and oral; providing excellent customer service internally as well as externally, demonstrated ability to probe, analyze and problem solve issues; strong sense of organization, attention to detail, time management, and ability to multi-task, to maintain a high level of productivity in a deadline driven environment.
  • French oral and written would be an asset.
