Job Description
Working closely with the clinical managers and reporting to the Manager, Clinical Practice, the Professional Practice Leader (PPL) is a leadership position with the mandate of promoting the advancement of the profession through innovation and discovery in practice and education. The PPL is responsible to support the activities of patient-focused care within the profession and ensure practice meets standards of care and the needs of the patient. He/she is also responsible for integrating the profession across the clinical programs at Osler, and establishing dynamic relationships with external partners. The PPL promotes a culture of professional enquiry and reflective practice by providing profession specific leadership and mentoring in an evidence-based continuous learning and research based practice environment. The PPL is an integral member of the Speech Language Pathologist team and professional advisory committee.
Accountabilities:

Ensure, monitor and enhance professional governance and the quality of professional practice delivered by the members of the discipline

Lead profession-specific practice improvements and advancement of the profession

Coach, mentor and guide practice development for professional staff
-
Enhance interdisciplinary processes across the organization for the purpose of improving patient outcomes
-
Act as a resource/ consultant for profession related issues, both internal and external
Qualifications
-
Master's degree in speech-language pathology
-
Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
-
Minimum of five years clinical experience in a health care setting
-
Strong collaborative and consultative leadership style
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-
Demonstrated commitment to practice advancement

Strong organizational and time-management skills
-
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team

Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
Additional Information
Hours: Currently days, Monday to Friday (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
