About the role

HOURS - Permanent Full-Time 37.5 hours/week. Monday to Friday- 10am-6pm. Evenings, weekends and extended hours may be required based on program need. Rate of Pay- $24.89/Hourly Reason for posting- This posting is for a new position. To learn more about Good Shepherd, visit our website at www.goodshepherdcentres.ca This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd – Martha House How You Will Make an Impact The successful candidate will extend our mission to residential and non-residential clients through the provision of respectful and appropriate housing support services. This will include housing-based case management, crisis intervention and supportive counseling. The incumbent must be able to work independently in a challenging and rewarding values-based environment. Complete intake and assessment for each resident to offer comprehensive housing case management services including, but not limited to, assessing housing histories and establishing a housing search plan that are service-user directed and include concrete goals and the steps required to achieve them. Accompany residents in the community for various housing related support including but not limited to; unit searches, tours, lease signing, program intakes and referrals, and any other related tasks. To offer and/or assist residents in developing appropriate and comprehensive discharge plans. Maintain confidentiality with regards to clients/staff and Centre's records To observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes. What You'll Bring to Our Team A Completed post-secondary education in a related field is required Applicants should possess a thorough knowledge of issues impacting cis women, trans and non-binary individuals including violence, abuse, mental illness, homelessness, poverty and substance use Minimum of 1 year experience delivering direct client care in a social services setting, with a focus on housing assessments, applications, and discharge planning. Experience working in a residential setting is preferred A demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity is essential CPR certification (or willingness to be certified) A valid Ontario driver's license (G) is required The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset A respectful and rewarding work environment with ongoing opportunities to grow and learn.
