As a Senior Groundwater Modelling Technical Lead, you will drive the technical vision and execution of complex groundwater modelling projects across mining, infrastructure, and municipal sectors. What you can expect to do here:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport models for large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
- Oversee and review the work of project teams, ensuring technical quality, innovation, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Serve as the primary technical expert and point of contact for clients, providing guidance on project scoping, methodology, and risk management.
- Develop and refine conceptual and numerical models, integrating complex datasets and advanced analytical techniques.
- Prepare and deliver high-impact technical reports, presentations, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and train junior and intermediate hydrogeologists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting proposal development, and building client relationships.
- Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and environmental standards, championing a “Safety First” culture.
- Stay at the forefront of groundwater modelling advancements, promoting the adoption of new tools, software, and methodologies.
What you'll bring to WSP:

Master’s or PhD in Hydrogeology, Environmental/Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of progressive experience in groundwater modelling, with a proven track record of technical leadership on major projects.

Professional registration as a Geoscientist or Engineer in Ontario (or eligibility).

Advanced expertise in numerical modelling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere) and data analysis tools (Python, SQL).

Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and client management skills.

Strong business acumen and experience supporting business development initiatives.

Valid Class G Driver’s License (or equivalent) and willingness to travel as required.
