Job Summary The Emterra Maintenance/Repair team is seeking a skilled and collaborative Maintenance team member to perform equipment maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across plant operations. This role includes operating power tools, maintaining conveyors and grinders, supporting production lines, ensuring a safe and organized work environment, and collaborating with the team to keep plant operations running efficiently.
Position Description
- Ability to perform various maintenance functions such as greasing and replacing bearings, replacing, tracking and lacing conveyor belts, operating power tools such as drills, Sawzall, cutting torches etc.
- Ability to changing filters, troubleshooting, repairs to glass plant primary and secondary grinders and screens, etc.
- Ability to cleaning under conveyor belts, OCC separator, glass breaker screen and around the baling area, etc., as required.
- Ability to navigate the touchscreens for the optical sorters, container line, fiber line and glass plant.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to ensure the proper and safe operation of the plant.
- Ensure work area is clean, organized, and free of any safety hazards at all times.
- Observe safe work practices.
- Heavy lifting/pulling is required.
- The successful candidate must also be required to complete courses on the forklift, snorkel lift, fall protection and confined space entry.
- Other duties as required.
Skills And Qualifications
- Candidates must have previous experience in performing maintenance and repair work, etc.
- Must have held a driver’s license.
- An excellent attendance record.
- Ability to work independently as well as take direction.
- Proven mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work bent over for extended period.
- Ability to bend, push, and pull and lift up to 50 lbs or more.
- Post secondary mechanical technology an asset.
