About the role
Main Function
This position is accountable for work in collaboration with our shop in Winnipeg to ensure the maintenance of equipment for efficient utilization of company assets. This role is also responsible to maintain strong working relationships internally with our Transportation Managers as well as with our service providers and suppliers across Western Canada.
Description Of Work Performed
Manage day-to-day maintenance operations. Manage up to 10 mechanics working on tractor/trailer equipment. Ability to maintain accurate inventory and purchasing controls. Strong computer skills; knowledge of fleet tracking equipment/systems a definite asset. Knowledge of International and Kenworth trucks an asset. Able to predict trends with equipment repairs and set-up proactive strategies for preventative maintenance considered an asset. Able to understand and uphold a safe work environment with established corporate safety policies. Strong judgement, problem solving and decision-making ability. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
Salary to be discussed based on experience.

Experience
