Intermediate Business Analyst
About the role
The Client is seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst to support Technology Services initiatives focused on ServiceNow Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Integrated Risk Management (IRM), CMDB, Application Portfolio Management (APM), and Technology Portfolio Management (TPM). The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, document business processes, support testing activities, and deliver business analysis artifacts that improve governance, compliance, and technology management.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements. Develop Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs). Create user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications. Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and perform gap analysis. Conduct stakeholder analysis and facilitate workshops and meetings. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenario creation, execution support, and defect analysis. Perform data mapping and data validation activities. Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze business processes and recommend improvements. Prepare reports and presentations for management and project stakeholders. Collaborate with technical teams on system integrations and interface requirements.
Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, gathering and documenting business requirements. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow modules, including Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Integrated Risk Management (IRM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Application Portfolio Management (APM), or Technology Portfolio Management (TPM). Proven experience developing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, process maps, and acceptance criteria. Strong understanding of governance, risk management, compliance, audit, attestation, and certification processes. Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test scenario creation, data validation, defect analysis, and requirements traceability. Knowledge of ServiceNow workflows, Performance Analytics, reporting, dashboards, and platform capabilities. Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience working with municipal, provincial, or other public sector organizations. Experience defining KPIs, compliance metrics, scorecards, and executive reporting. Knowledge of business process improvement, workflow design, and gap analysis. Experience with system integration analysis, application dependencies, and interface requirements. Understanding of access controls, data privacy, security requirements, and audit controls. Experience supporting enterprise ServiceNow implementations or digital transformation initiatives.
