We invite applications for the temporary position of:
- 0.50 FTE Grades 10-12 Online Learning Teacher: Physical Health and Education 10, Active Living 11 & 12
NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment
- Recent, substantive experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of Physical Health and Education and Active Living within an online learning environment at the secondary school level
- Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system
- Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators
- Dedication and experience developing and implementing online learning platforms within the modern languages portfolio (Brightspace, Zoom, Teams) to enhance student learning
- Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person
- Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s
