Vulcraft Canada, Inc, A Division of Nucor Corporation is currently looking for a Material Handler / Yard Person to join our Leduc, Alberta team.
Job Description This Material Handler / Yard Person is responsible for the safe and efficient loading & unloading of materials, and for keeping finished goods organized and prepared for future shipments.
Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient loading and unloading of trailers using shunt trucks, forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Responsible for organizing and staging finished goods in the yard.
- Frequent heavy lifting of materials.
- Movement of materials within the shop to ensure materials are stored in a safe manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of all shipping and receiving documents.
- Ensure documents are cross checked with purchase/sales orders for accuracy.
- Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor.
- Be willing to help the team succeed wherever possible.
Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years experience in material handling, loading and unloading.
- Capable of working outside.
- Experience in a manufacturing/warehouse/ yard setting
- Experience in the steel industry is considered an asset
- Forklift Ticket is an asset
- Overhead crane ticket is an asset
- Safety conscious attitude
- Overtime hours may be required
