Who is a Finance Manager- Club Managed Items? The Finance Manager – Club Managed Items is responsible for budgeting, analyzing, and providing selected reporting on their specific areas of Finance responsibility, along with overseeing the areas of their direct reports, if assigned. This person will act as the primary contact person within Finance for any club or Home Office Associates needing direction or assistance from Finance related to their areas of responsibility.
The Finance Manager – Club Managed Items will also provide impactful analysis and decision support (both directly and via output from direct reports) for the GoodLife Senior Management team, related predominantly to their specific areas of Finance responsibility, but also to other elements of the business.
What will you be doing?
- Acts as primary Finance Liaison for all Club expenses (excludes Associate Compensation, PT, Capital, Facility & Occupancy expenses, and new club expense budgeting), Corporate & Business Development Team and department budgets (excluding select departments that are the responsibility of other Finance Managers)
- Provides analysis and reporting as required by these teams. This could apply to both normal business operations, and/or Strategic Initiatives in support of the GoodLife Strategic Direction Statement
- Uses available data, both financial and operational, to provide robust advice and decision support to optimize financial results, with a specific focus on identifying and implementing operating cost reduction opportunities
- Oversees annual budget development, budget adjustments and monthly budget/statement review and analysis for assigned areas of responsibility with a goal of creating accurate budgets in a timely manner.
- Manage monthly and other ad-hoc budget reviews/analysis with assigned business stakeholders as needed in order to drive financial performance improvements.
- All budgeting oversight/review and analysis/decision support related to Canfitpro, and Les Enterprises Vivre en Forme
- Assistance as required in preparing detailed budgets and operational plans
- Incorporating provided data from banners into budgeting and forecasting systems.
- Reconciles and addresses issues between external and internal budget sources
- Work with Analytics team as needed to provide data and insights related to analytics initiatives, and scope and deliver effective Executive and Management level reporting
- Effectively manages workload and prioritization of tasks for self and direct reports
- Creates, maintains, and continually follows up on compelling and action-oriented development plans for direct reports
- Developing and mentoring direct reports and more junior members of the Finance and Accounting teams
Do you have what it takes?
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience with a concentration in Business Administration/Finance
- 5 years previous work experience in a mid to senior level Finance/Accounting/Data Analytics capacity
- Strong knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office suite, with very high proficiency in Excel critical
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in analysis of large and disparate data sets and applying formal research and statistical analysis methods to business problems/opportunities
- Demonstrated proficiency in development of effective predictive financial models
- High Level of motivation, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast paced, ever- changing environment
- Superior verbal and written communication skills; exceptional analytical skills and business acumen
- Exemplary time management, planning, prioritization and organizational skills required to work in a predominantly self-directed manner, both individually, and when working with other members of the Finance Department
- Customer service/stakeholder focused, flexible, and willing to learn and grow
- Proficiency in the use of computers for E-mail and Internet.

Compensation: It is expected that the selected candidate will start at a base salary of $92,000. This position is eligible for bonuses in addition to the base salary. The annual range of expected compensation for the position is $92,000 - $134,000 determined by performance, time in the position and variable compensation earned.
