Do you love helping others and bringing people together? We're looking for a friendly and organized Tech Café Coordinator to lead our Saturday Tech Cafe events - fun, two hour sessions where volunteers offer one-on-one tech help to older adults.
As the coordinator, you'll organize all aspects of the cafe - from scheduling and welcoming volunteers to setting up the space and making sure everything runs smoothly. It's a great opportunity to connect generations, build community, and make technology a little less intimidating for seniors.

Acclaim Health announces the availability of one (1) Temporary Regular Part Time Tech Café Coordinator position for the Community Support Services department for a period of one (1) year. The individual will be required to work 12 hours a week to organize and attend the two hour events that take place mostly on Saturdays. These events could be held in any of the following locations: Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills.
Pay: $24.47 - $26.02 per hour
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates all aspects of Tech Cafés including scheduling volunteers, ensuring adequate staffing, liaising with location staff, organizing materials and completing set-up and take-down.
- Ensures the smooth running of the Tech Café including registration, welcoming participants and supporting volunteers
- Provides technology support on smartphones and tablets to participants as needed.
- Collects, tracks and reports attendance, client surveys
- Maintains email lists and sends out emails for upcoming Tech Cafés
- Works with Volunteer Engagement Coordinator on recruitment as needed
- Provides orientation and ongoing support for volunteers
- Participate in program evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills

Experience working effectively with volunteers

Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in event management preferred

Experience working with older adults an asset

Good understanding of technology including Apple and Android based products, Zoom and other virtual platforms

Valid Ontario Driver’s License and insurance coverage in accordance with the company policy.

Access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel within Halton Region
-
Strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member

Proficient in Microsoft Office
