About Mount Milligan Mine Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity Reporting to the Environment Superintendent, and Safety Superintendent the EHSS Administrator to provide administrative support to MTM Environment, Health & Safety, Security & Training team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by safe example always.
- Act as Environment department’s Document Champion, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), are reviewed, updated, controlled, and distributed in line with document control processes.
- Manage employee’s room bookings for all EHSS members, ensuring efficiently booked ahead and adjust changes when needed based on departmental work schedules, including leave schedules, holidays.
- Attend meetings when required & follow up on items, Note taking for EHSS meetings required
- Support environmental tracking activities, including logging sampling report data issues.
- Create Purchase Requisitions (PRs) in SAP & Maintain PR & PO in tracking spreadsheets for procurement support.
- Enter and maintain invoices for Service ES to be processed for payments.
- Assist Safety Training Coordinator with uploading employees completed training records digitally
- Enroll employees in required internal training programs such as through Teams & Bridge
- Support other Departments certification validity, expiry dates, and refresher training requirements & records
- Maintain and update Safety Notice Boards with current policies, alerts, and regulatory information.
- Support and assist with month-end safety reporting, including data consolidation, preparation of summary reports, and downloading and compiling documentation for management reporting purposes.
- Assist with incident investigation documentation as needed
- Process site access requests for contractors and visitors, ensuring compliance with security and safety requirements. Support & maintain visitor and contractor records in accordance with company procedures through ISN
- Provide administrative support to JOHSC (Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee) meetings, including preparation of meeting and inspection agendas and entering action items to Isometrix.
- Provide support for major Shutdown scheduling of employees and contractors
About You Minimum education is High school diploma.
Additional training, including completion of a one- or two-year college or other program for administrative assistants or secretaries or previous clerical experience is an advantage
Excellent communication and people skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, promoting a culture of safety and environmental awareness
Preference will be given to candidates having Environmental, Health and Safety, Training and LMS experience.
In-depth knowledge of environmental and Health and Safety regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
Strong organizational and management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Effective communication and people skills.
Previous experience in an Environment- safety-related role within mining industry.
Proficiency in data management software and tools
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Working Conditions
- Camp-based role working 10-hour days on a 4 day on/3 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
