SUMMARY: The position will be primarily based in the logistics department, focusing on shipping products to and from customers and vendors. Additionally, the role will involve purchasing and subcontracting activities, including timeline planning, price negotiations, and coordinating the delivery of materials for manufacturing services. This is an approximately 18-month contract opportunity to provide coverage during a maternity leave, with the possibility to gain valuable experience across logistics, purchasing, and subcontracting.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing Logistics for all shipping and Trade compliance requirements, via couriers/Brokers.
- Understanding of International transportation, Export and Import activities an asset.
- Consulting with customers, sales representatives to ensure all shipping criteria are met.
- Ability to prioritize tasks according to urgency.
- Responsible for sourcing and negotiations as well as collaborating on drafting contractual terms, contracts management, and interpreting contracts.
- Coordination of supplied materials and information to support the subcontract work.
- Preparation of production schedules for each subcontractor.
- Reporting and keeping the StackTeck organization informed of progress and issues that may adversely affect costs, schedules, quality or safety.
- Supporting quality, safety and environmental aspects as it relates to subcontracting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Post- Secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or Project Management.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with subcontractors, crating and shipping teams is an asset.
- Previous experience in the machining industry is an asset.
- Experience working with ERP Systems is an asset.
BEHAVIOURAL
- Well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Team Player with ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
