About the Department
The Hope Restored department coordinates and delivers Focus Canada’s Christ-centered marriage ministry through intensive counselling programs. Developed by Dr. Bob Paul & Dr Greg Smalley for couples in distress, Hope Restored was brought to Canada in 2018.
These intensives provide couples the opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and focus fully on their marriage in a retreat setting. Couples may participate in either a private marriage intensive (one couple with two therapists over 2.5 days) or a group marriage intensive (four couples with two therapists over four days).
Throughout the program, therapists teach the Hope Restored model and also engage directly in therapy with participants. The vast majority of couples describe the experience as transformational and deeply impactful.
