Who you are

  • You have some hands‑on cooking experience (restaurant)

  • You have experience serving food and working directly with customers

  • You understand basic food safety (expiry dates, cross‑contamination, hygiene, SafeCheck/FOODSAFE BC)

  • You’re reliable in fast‑paced, physically demanding environments

  • You’re comfortable with food prep, cleaning, and teamwork

  • You have a positive, can‑do attitude and enjoy helping customers

Your responsibilities

  • Assist with basic cooking and food preparation

  • Serve customers and provide a friendly, helpful experience

  • Maintain food quality, freshness, and presentation

  • Keep all food areas clean, organized, and safe

  • Follow all IKEA food safety and waste‑reduction policies

  • Answer customer questions about ingredients and menu items

  • Support teammates during peak times

  • Learn IKEA’s Swedish food products, specials, and prep standards

  • Help meet daily/weekly sales goals

First 3 Months (Important)

Your first 3 months will focus on:

50% dishwashing
50% sanitation, cleaning, and workstation upkeep

This ensures you learn IKEA Coquitlam’s Food safety, hygiene, and operational standards before moving into broader food‑prep responsibilities.
