PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As a Crew Dispatcher you will communicate with Train & Engine (T&E) employees to appropriate assignments while ensuring the timely and cost-effective deployment of crews to meet operational requirements.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Interpret and apply the applicable provisions of the T&E collective agreements
- Enter data into the various computer applications such as, but not limited to, Crew Management Application (CMA), Nexus, Auto Crew Caller and Microsoft Office
- Make business decisions based on priorities established by the Operations Centre (OC)
- Answer any inquiries from employees
- Maintain Crew Management Application records
- Monitor T&E maximum hour clock and mandatory time on duty and rest rules
- Be accountable for the proficient handling of other related tasks as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Graduation or General Equivalency Diploma
- Previous dispatcher or call center experience would be considered an asset
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and can make decision under stressful situations
- Strong written and verbal communication/comprehension
- Desire to work in a challenging environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Bilingualism (French and English) considered an asset
- This position is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, therefore shift work and weekend work are required
- Ability to be flexible with changing work schedules
