Job Description

Investigate mechanical systems failures and incidents, and review the design, operation and maintenance of the mechanical systems to identify system requirements
-
Conduct field inspections, loss analysis, testing, and data collection
-
Determine the scope of damage (water, physical, electrical, smoke, etc.) to the components and advise on repairability of damaged equipment.

Analyze invoices, purchase orders, budgets, schedules submitted in relation to damaged equipment
-
Prepare written technical reports detailing project scopes, findings obtained from damage assessment and estimates, causation/failure analysis, and test results.

Manage multiple project assignments and execute them on time and within budget.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently in 4th year, having finished studies from a reputable mechanical engineering program.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong mechanical aptitude to interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in clear language.
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Proficiency in using the full suite of Microsoft Office products and strong presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to travel to sites when necessary
- Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications

Technical report writing skills in relation to engineering analysis, feasibility, and optioning for design, installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of Electro-Mechanical devices used in commercial or industrial facilities.

Developing curiosity about the inspection, and loss assessment of mechanical components including but not limited to Steam & Water Boilers & Heat Exchanger Systems, Air- & Water-Cooled Chillers/Cooling Towers, Pressure Vessels, Piping & Insulation Systems, and Refrigeration Systems & Equipment as well as industrial machinery and equipment used in manufacturing facilities and construction and transportation

Basic knowledge of using CAD Software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Revit platform to produce 3D models and drawings; and a willingness to learn additional programs to support the design, drawings, and schedules required for equipment loss assessment.

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to various project sites and conduct field investigations.
- Must be able to work at heights to periodically access and work on roofs, scaffolds, lifts, and other elevated surfaces.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, both indoors and outdoors and work in enclosed spaces (attics, crawlspaces, etc.) with appropriate personal protection.
- Must be able to lift, transport, set up, and utilize an extension ladder to access roofs and other elevated surfaces.
- Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time
