Transdev Canada is hiring a Building Systems and Stops Technician for our Brampton, Ontario location
Transdev Canada is actively seeking a Building Systems & Stops Technician to deliver professional engineering expertise in the field of LRV Vehicles and System Infrastructure for the Light Rail Operation we are pursuing in the Greater Toronto Area. Transdev is present throughout North America, with a strong presence in Canada.
Your role
-
Oversee and perform regular facility maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment and systems; monitoring and inspecting, recommending, and providing preventative and corrective maintenance.

You may be required to respond to a service support request under the guidance of a Supervisor.

Install and maintain a wide range of electrical apparatus, including electrical circuits, switches, solenoids, control boards, motors, generators, yard lighting, and three-phase industrial systems
-
Perform complex wiring, installation, and utilization of conduits
-
Isolate, earth, and reinstate power to overhead line equipment and substation equipment in accordance with procedures
-
Report defects and carry out fault diagnosis and appropriate rectification of defects
-
Complete accurate written and/or IT system records of work carried out
-
Assist your Supervisor to audit third party contractors working on the LRT system
-
Maintain and repair facilities and grounds at LRT stops and LRT shelter locations
-
Available to assist with shelter and LRT stop snow removal and treatment
-
Oversee contractors that may be retained by Transdev to perform LRT stop and LRT shelter related maintenance
-
Troubleshoot and maintain systems with programmable logic and solid-state controllers
-
Perform basic preventative building maintenance and repairs and adjustments to building systems including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and finishes.

Coordinate and monitor access to buildings for subcontractors performing maintenance or repair work

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using blueprints, specifications, and schematic diagrams

You will be required to draft and support the development of procedures, work instructions and forms which are related to this position

Provide observations about the facilities mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies

Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps

Monitor and control building equipment, operate facilities BAS
-
Undertake any required training as required by Transdev
-
Conduct other duties as reasonably requested by management

Your profile
-
You possess a recognised technical trade apprenticeship, preferably trade certificate in mechanical/electrical
-
You have experience with Building Services Systems or related discipline
-
You possess a valid G driver’s License, with no restrictions
-
You have a Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution required
Work Experience Qualifications
-
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
-
Work experience in maintenance in the rail industry including knowledge on mechanical/electrical design.
-
Experience with construction, installation, and maintenance procedures and manuals for equipment as found in a manufacturing or maintenance facility for an LRT system.
-
Experience with work order system (Maximo) is an asset
-
Having a DZ License would be an asset
-
Trained in Elevated Work Platform/forklifts is an asset.

Will be required to undertake and successfully complete safety competency and all other related training and licences in order to conduct duties
