What Your Day and Week Could Look Like
Reporting to the SVP, the Head of Analytics will be responsible for setting the analytics vision, driving data strategy and enabling data-informed decision-making with data storytelling to influence strategic initiatives across the organization. You will take ownership of complex analytical projects, collaborate cross-functionally and deliver actionable insights that support business growth and efficiencies.
You’ll lead a high-performing team of data analysts, senior analyst engineers and BI professionals to uncover insights that shape our business strategy and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive analytics strategy aligned with business goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing data-driven insights to influence company strategy.
- Champion a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Build, manage and mentor a high-performing team of analysts engineers and data professionals.
- Define team structure, roles and career development plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., collections, sales, finance, operations) to identify key metrics and analytics needs.
- Translate business problems into data questions, design and execute appropriate analyses.
- Lead efforts to analyze business performance, customer behavior and market trends.
- Deliver actionable insights and predictive models to support collections, sales, operations and finance teams.
- Oversee the design and development of dashboards, KPIs and reporting tools.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights to senior stakeholders.
- Develop AI driven data insights and analytical capabilities leveraging in-house data platform and other SaaS solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data quality, accessibility and integrity.
- Define and enforce standards for data governance, privacy and compliance.
- Support experimentation and A/B testing, interpreting results to guide product or campaign enhancements.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance in all analysis and reporting efforts.
What You Bring
- 12+ years of experience in analytics or data science roles, including 4+ years in leadership positions.
- Proven track record of building and leading analytics functions in fast-paced, data-rich environments.
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, data modeling and data visualization.
- Proficiency with modern analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Spark, Tableau, Power BI, Databricks dashboards, Superset).
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical thinking with the ability to structure and solve complex problems.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to translate data findings into actionable business insights.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge with Google Cloud Platform, Databricks and Spark-based data processing.
- Experience working with ETL frameworks and transformation tools like Data Build Tool(dbt) etc.
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices in cloud environments
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a financial lending or similar industry.
- Experience in a fast-paced, data-driven environment such as SaaS, e-commerce, finance or banking.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data environments such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques such as regression, clustering and predictive modeling.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and tools.
- MBA or advanced quantitative degree is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in performance tuning, large-scale data analysis and debugging skills.

- Mississauga – Another office location, but less frequently used by the tech team.
