About the role
Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement is seeking an immediate Intermediate QA Specialist Location: 5700 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario (Onsite)
Client: Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement
Contract: April 1, 2026 - October 5, 2027 (497 business days)
Hours: 7.25 hours/day, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mon-Fri (excluding lunch)
Security Level: CRJMC
Extension: Probable after initial mandate
About The Role Intermediate Systems Testing/QA Specialist performing functional/non-functional testing of iPHIS, OHISS, TIS & Inspections Tools, Panorama, Cognos reports, and business objects. Creates complete testing documentation (plans, cases, scripts, automated scripts, results, defect logs). Transforms functional/business/system knowledge into test planning/execution, creates test data, performs user reviews/sign-offs. Works with developers/architects/product owners on test plans, resolves testing/production issues.
Fully onsite role requires working 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00-5:00 PM (excluding lunch) Monday-Friday at OPS office location.
Key Responsibilities
QA & Systems Testing (45 points)
- Functional/non-functional testing: iPHIS, OHISS, TIS, Inspections Tools, Panorama, Cognos reports
- All testing stages: strategy, tool selection, planning, test cases/data, manual/automated execution, defect tracking
- COTS solutions (patches/releases/enhancements/regression), in-house web apps, HL7-FHIR REST/JSON/XML, APIs, reporting, integrations
- Security testing (SAML, JWT)
- Accessibility testing (WCAG 2.0/AODA compliance)
- Automated test scripts (Selenium), API testing (SOAP-UI, POSTMAN), SQL/ad-hoc queries
- BI solutions testing (data validation via reports/dashboards)
- Production deployment validation
- SDLC testing perspective reviews
Logging/Tracking/Defect Reporting (35 points)
- Identify/document issues/risks
- Defect logs/reports (Jira, Confluence, TestRail)
- Task/project status updates
- QA/cross-functional meetings
- Test prioritization (business priority/defects/time)
- Shared resource problem-solving (environments/data)
- Walkthroughs/triage participation
General Skills (15 Points)
- Technical leadership/improvement recommendations
