The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment facility. Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, this role partners closely with production, maintenance, and environmental teams to ensure compliance, minimize operational disruptions, and support continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance. We are hiring for 2 temporary 6-month roles Role 1: 7am - 4:30pm shift 5 days per week including a rotation to cover weekends. Role 2: 6am - 4pm OR 4pm - 2am 5 days per week. What you’ll be doing. Operate and monitor the Wastewater Treatment Plant to ensure safe and efficient performance Continuously monitor FactoryTalk systems, respond to alarms, and take corrective action as required Communicate with hauling contractors to coordinate waste removal activities Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize plant disruptions Maintain housekeeping standards in laboratory and work areas Communicate emergency or urgent repair issues clearly and effectively Actively participate in team discussions and contribute to operational decision-making Follow GMPs, safety standards, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and environmental compliance Perform additional duties as assigned by the WWTP Lead Hand What you’ll need to be successful. High school diploma or equivalent (GED required) Previous experience in wastewater treatment operations, process line operation, or laboratory analysis (considered an asset) Proficiency with computers, including experience using Excel and FactoryTalk systems Valid Class 1 Driver’s License Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively in a team environment Strong attention to detail with a natural sense of urgency Willingness and ability to work shift schedules as required to cover vacations and leaves About the team. Compensation Package: - Starting at 27.41 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
