THE ROLE Our recruitment team is currently looking for a Network Infrastructure Support Specialist for our clientto support multiple locations in Vancouver, BC.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and configure the district’s wired and wireless network infrastructure, including firewalls, network nodes, network access controls, and security measures
- Administer, configure and install infrastructure devices and virtual appliances
- Establish standards and procedures and write specifications, scripts and documentation for technical architecture and systems
- Prepare and execute detailed plans for complex multi-functional projects
- Research and analyze emerging trends in technology and systems architecture, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations
- Provide support and direction, and apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to address escalated issues
- Develop and deliver training workshops for technical and end-user audiences
- Liaise with stakeholders, LIT teams, vendors, contractors and other third parties as required to support district services
- Prepare maintenance and communication plans for district services to ensure they remain fit for purpose
- Perform information technology functions to support the division
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- Completion of grade 12 plus over 3 years' full-time equivalent post-secondary education in a relevant technology discipline.
- Over five (5) years of progressive experience in a relevant computer systems and network technology discipline.
- Experience working in a K-12 education organization an asset.
- Advanced skills in designing and configuring networks, firewalls, server infrastructure, Network Access Controls and security best practices.
- Ability to analyze, prepare and distribute information in multiple formats to a diverse audience with a variety of technical experience levels.
- Experience with wired and wireless networking, network security, VoIP technologies, virtual environments, VPN, O365 & Azure and other various software applications.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in designing/delivering presentations.
- Must be able to meet the following assessment: Hands-on 1-hour series of tasks/problems (70%+).
Compensation The base salary for this position is $82,464 plus a comprehensive benefits package, including Pension Plan, Employee Savings Plan, Extended Health, Dental, Group Life, Long Term Disability, Vacation, & Gratuity Days. Pre-approved overtime hours are paid at double-time ($90.62/hour).
