Description Located at the downtown Calgary Office, the Student, IBP Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, Integrated Business Planning.

The Student, IBP Analyst will gain valuable hands-on experience in supporting the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) function for the Heartland business unit. This includes exposure of the Heartland Petrochemical Complex including the CUB, PDH, and PP facilities as well as managing associated supply requirements to align with sales and demand plans.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a student to contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop skills in strategic planning, analytics, and business operations.

Key Activities And Responsibilities

  • Assist in gathering and analyzing market trends, customer requirements, and historical data.
  • Support the development of demand forecasts to align with business objectives.
  • Help track demand planning KPIs, such as forecast accuracy and bias.
  • Collaborate with Plant Operations to support production scheduling activities.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing production constraints and bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to integrating supply planning processes into the IBP framework.
  • Provide support in determining optimal inventory levels to balance customer service and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory data and contribute recommendations for optimization.
  • Assist in generating reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Excel, and SQL.
  • Support the analysis of financial and operational data to provide actionable insights.
  • Contribute to systems integration and analytics improvements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, and Finance, to align plans and targets.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for team meetings and management updates.
  • Identify areas for improvement in IBP processes and recommend best practices.
  • Support initiatives to enhance data quality, analytics, and automation.

Education, Skills And Experience

  • 3rd year student enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (Power BI, Excel, SQL is an asset).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
