About the Role

Opening in 2028, the South Niagara Hospital will bring together services from our Niagara Falls, Port Colborne, Fort Erie, and select acute care services from the Welland site - creating a modern, connected, and patient-focused facility. This transformational project will redefine how we deliver care, improve outcomes, and enhance the work environment for staff and physicians through technology, spaces, and integrated teams. To support this exciting change, Niagara Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead the change engagement strategy-working closely with leaders and departments across the organization to guide teams through this significant system-wide transformation.

Position Objective

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Strategy, Research and Redevelopment, and working in close partnership with the Director of Service Planning and Operational Readiness and the Interim Director of Strategy and ePMO, the Senior Change Management Specialist will lead the development and implementation of robust change management strategy and plans for the South Niagara Hospital Project.

This role is central to ensuring that the South Niagara Hospital's transformational initiatives meet strategic, operational, and cultural goals - on time and on budget. The Senior Change Management Specialist will be instrumental in engaging and inspiring interested and affected parties across the organization, driving physician and staff buy-in, and supporting the successful adoption of new systems, care models, workflows, and workplace strategies. This role will promote future-ready thinking, manage change-related risks, and ensure long-term project success for patients, families, and staff-while collaborating with change professionals across departments to build a network of change cultivators and embed engagement into daily planning and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage Niagara Health's Organizational Change Management Framework to inform the development of change management strategies and plans and lead the cultural transformation required to enable the opening of the South Niagara Hospital.
  • Lead the development and implementation of change management strategies and plans to support the South Niagara Hospital Project's Operational Readiness Plan - including roadmaps, gap assessments, communication plans, coaching plans, training plans, resistance management plans and user adoption and sustainability plans.
  • Integrate and support the implementation of change engagement activities into the Operational Readiness clinical, integrated and support service workplans.
  • Create two-way communication forums and mechanisms, in collaboration with the communication team, to gather stakeholder feedback and input for consideration at all stages of the project and assesses levels of stakeholder acceptance throughout the project.
  • Build competency and literacy of change management by coaching and training leaders and teams on change management best practices and guiding principles.
  • Create and manage measurement systems and tools to track adoption, utilization and proficiency of change initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration, Project Management or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience leading change management for complex large-scale projects in healthcare, technology, or redevelopment
  • Change Management certification
  • Expert knowledge of change management methodologies, processes and tools required for organizational level change initiatives
  • Project Management certification considered an asset
  • Capital redevelopment project experience considered an asset
  • Clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is desirable
  • Advance MS Office and other software tools skills required to develop effective presentations, communication and training/learning solutions
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Valid driver's license and access to vehicle for multi-site hospital travel
  • Expertise leading change management for large-scale organizational projects through entire lifecycle
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excels in facilitation, coaching and cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong personal organizational skills to ensure continued alignment of assigned work with team and organizational priorities
  • Ability to work confidently and effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Expertise in applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to remove obstacles and achieve goals
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and maintaining focus in dynamic, evolving environments
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and align diverse groups toward a shared vision and goals
  • Leads a positive, inclusive and productive work environment
  • Technically proficient with the ability to learn new systems, processes and software
  • Proactively manages work and takes ownership of deliverables
  • Expertise in managing high-volume and diverse workload with rapidly changing priorities while maintaining high quality of work
  • Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
