The Thrift Store Warehouse Lead supports the day-to-day operation of the thrift warehouse by coordinating donation flow, sorting and distribution activities. This role provides hands-on guidance and support to volunteers and staff to ensure donated goods are processed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organization standards.

What You’ll Do
-
Support daily warehouse operations related to the receiving, sorting, storage, and movement of donated goods
-
Help ensure donations are handled, sorted, and directed according to thrift store quality standards and operational priorities
-
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment to support high volunteer participation
-
Assist with inventory flow between the warehouse and thrift store locations
-
Provide day‑to‑day guidance, task direction, and on‑the‑floor support to staff and volunteers
-
Demonstrate and oversee proper sorting, handling, and safety practices related to donated goods
-
Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful volunteer environment
-
Coordinate daily warehouse activities to support thrift store needs and donation flow
-
Communicate with thrift store and management staff regarding priorities, shortages, or operational challenges
-
Support staff and volunteer onboarding and informal training related to warehouse processes
-
May be required to drive to pick up or deliver goods between locations.

Report incidents, safety concerns, or workflow issues as required
-
Promote and model safe warehouse practices and ensure staff and volunteers follow health and safety guidelines
-
Attend team or other meetings as required
-
Perform other related duties as required.
Our ideal Warehouse Lead will bring the following:
-
Experience in a warehouse, thrift, donation‑based, retail back‑of‑house, or logistics environment
-
Experience working with or supporting volunteers considered an asset
-
Strong organizational and teamwork skills
-
Ability to provide clear, practical direction in a busy, variable‑paced environment
-
Comfortable with physical work, lifting, and material handling
-
Basic computer literacy for communication and simple record keeping
Additional Requirements
-
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle are required
-
Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General prior to hiring is required
-
Sufficient physical strength and stamina to perform the standard duties
