About This Role
The Quality Manager will oversee and ensure the consistent quality of products manufactured at three facilities in Ontario. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing quality systems, processes, and standards that meet both local regulatory requirements and global corporate quality objectives. The Quality Manager will work closely with the Vice President of Operations and collaborate with the global quality team in France to align local initiatives with global standards. This role is essential to ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of products, driving customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with global standards.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Quality System Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust environmental and quality management systems (EQMS) in accordance with industry best practices and global corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Monitor and improve processes to enhance product quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
Compliance and Certification:
- Lead efforts to maintain and achieve necessary certifications (e.g., ISO standards) for the facilities.
- Conduct regular audits of processes and systems to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for quality-related audits, inspections, and certifications.
Product Quality Oversight:
- Oversee the quality of products at all stages of development and manufacturing, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final product testing.
- Implement quality control (QC) protocols and testing procedures to ensure consistent product performance.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure quality is embedded in all aspects of product development and manufacturing.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are met by vendors and suppliers.
- Liaise with Service Team on quality-related feedback from the field and lead necessary improvement activities within the Brampton and Suwanee teams.
- Partner with the global quality team in France to align local practices with corporate quality objectives.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver quality-related training programs for employees to ensure awareness and adherence to quality standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership across all levels of the organization.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance, metrics, and initiatives to the V.P. of Operations, local business management team, and global quality team.
- Investigate quality-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lead corrective action investigations into high profile non-conformances and drive them to resolution.
- Develop methods to capture in-process quality data and use this data to drive process improvements.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field. Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in quality management, preferably in an engineer-to-order, configure-to-order or custom product manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with quality systems, audits, and compliance in a multi-site operation.
- Familiarity with Ontario regulations and standards, as well as global quality practices.
- Strong understanding of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) methodologies.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective collaboration across departments and cultural boundaries.
Additional Specific Requirements
- Regular travel between facilities within Ontario is required.
- Occasional international travel to collaborate with the quality team in France or USA .
- Ability to respond to urgent quality-related matters as needed.
Compensation range: $110,000 – $120,000 CAD
