We are looking for a motivated Intern, Public Markets Operations to join our team! This is a 12 month internship opportunity. We will consider candidates for the January-December 2026 schedule. This position is ideally suited to current students or recent graduates. As a key member of our Investment Finance team, the Intern, Investment Operations (Public Markets), will be responsible for supporting investment administration and operations. The role is responsible for support and monitoring daily trading activity within the public market environment. Liaise regularly with various external and internal parties, including clients, custodians and administrators, auditors, investment finance, corporate finance, cash management, legal, investment front office and others. This position reports to the Manager, Investment Operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting with the oversight and monitoring of custodian and administrator service levels and other supplier relationship management duties.
- Provide support and monitor the full life cycle of daily trading activities.
- Assist in the preparation with daily and monthly reconciliations and NAV validations.
- Assist the Manager, and operations team, in documenting and maintaining operational procedures and trade support processes.
- Assist the Data Team with providing specs and format to build new accounting/custody reports on custody related to new pools.
- Identify and champion innovation through technology and automation to achieve operational efficiencies
- Assist with project planning, scoping, testing, and implementation related to new internal systems.
What do you need to succeed?
- Working towards an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Minimum of two (2) or more co-op work terms.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, VBA or other programming languages is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, being able to communicate comfortably with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated desire and aptitude for working with data applications.
- Self-management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with MS Suite (Excel, Word, Power Automate, Power BI, Planner, SharePoint, Visio).
