About the role

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis to work on-site in Regina, SK.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our maintenance team and support a variety of technical challenges, gain hands-on experience troubleshooting and improving electrical and instrumentation equipment, and collaborate with a skilled team to drive maintenance excellence through innovative solutions and cross-functional collaboration. What you’ll do:

  • Support maintenance engineering activities of varying complexity, including troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation equipment, developing Construction Work Packages (CWPs), and specifying and designing small-scale electrical modifications and installations.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to tradespeople and planners by helping resolve electrical or instrumentation equipment issues, addressing obsolescence concerns, and assisting with field and shop repairs.
  • Completing analysis to develop and recommend technically sound and cost-effective solutions for electrical or instrumentation equipment issues, considering safety, reliability, and operational impacts. Higher impact decisions will be supported by the guidance of more senior technical staff.
  • Contribute to maintaining maintenance engineering backlogs and tracking performance metrics, supporting timely resolution of issues to minimize downtime and maintain equipment integrity.
  • Collaborate with Trades, Operations, Reliability, and other departments to support equipment performance and identify opportunities for electrical and instrumentation system improvements.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in maintenance engineering and:

  • Have 4+ years of related engineering experience in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering and are registered with APEGS as an EIT or P.Eng (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Are familiar with equipment codes and standards associated with refinery assets.
  • Have experience developing Construction Work Packages, working within CMMS systems, and executing Management of Change processes.
