Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Systems Administrator (or IT Solutions Architect) to support our M&A integration initiatives and IT operations. This role will lead technical due diligence and onboarding of acquired companies, manage and optimize our Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, and ensure compliance with SOC 2 Type 2 standards—all while driving secure, efficient, and cost-effective infrastructure management.

Responsibilities
- Lead technical due diligence and discovery for acquisitions, assessing IT infrastructure, systems, and security posture.
- Develop and execute technical onboarding plans, including data migration, system harmonization, and user provisioning/de-provisioning.
- Analyze IT infrastructure for cost-saving opportunities and implement performance and efficiency strategies.
- Perform Azure administration, including backups, patching, and enforcement of security policies.
- Manage and scale production environments and collaborate with Technology to improve scalability, performance, reliability, and security of cloud resources.
- Optimize cloud costs across SaaS and web production, development, and staging environments.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, ensuring all controls are implemented, documented, and functioning effectively.
- Partner with M&A teams and acquired companies to align technical milestones.
- Refine and evolve Remsoft’s IT playbook for onboarding acquisitions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for scalability, security, and performance best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Software/Technical Skills:
- Expert-level knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 administration and architecture.
- Proven experience with cost management and optimization in cloud environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender (highly desirable).
- Experience with ESRI (asset).
- Experience:
- Strong background in IT systems administration or similar technical role, with leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting at least one merger or acquisition.
- Proven experience implementing/managing security controls for SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
- Other: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Assets
- Experience with ESRI solutions.
- Prior involvement in multiple M&A technical integrations.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar compliance frameworks.
Location
We are committed to finding the best candidate and are flexible regarding location. While Remsoft's headquarters are in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and Ottawa, Ontario, we are open to a range of working arrangements for this role. Candidates can work fully remote, in a hybrid setup, or from our office.
