About the role
Purpose of Position: The Builder Team Design Assistant is responsible for assisting the Account Managers with the design and pricing of cabinetry and countertops, order submissions, as well as ensuring our customers receive exceptional service.
Key Relationships:
Reports to: Builder Sales Manager
Internal: Operations, Installers, and the Sales team
External: Customers, Suppliers, Vendors
Key Position Responsibilities:

Order Processing, including:
-
Ensuring that all required documentation is complete, accurate and signed by client (Proposals, contracts and waivers as required).
-
Ensure that all required documentation has been uploaded into the order within the InSight program.
-
Ensuring all components are ordered correctly (checking for finished ends, hinging, appliance openings, etc.).
-
Ensuring the appropriate number of parts and pieces such as fillers, toe kicks, etc. have been ordered.
-
Layout functionality (overall effectiveness of the design).
-
Ensure payment or a PO has been received as required.

Paperwork Accuracy, including but not limited to:
-
Ensuring that the submitted files meet the standardized format requirements.
-
Installation Packages.
-
Proposals, terms and conditions, waivers.
-
Customer contacts.
-
Appliance specs.
-
Maps and or Directions to Job Sites.
-
Custom Drawings.
-
Layouts and Elevations.
-
Legibility, etc.
-
-
Assisting Account Managers in managing their workloads.
-
Covering Account Manager’s vacation or sick days.
-
Meet with home builders’ customers as required.
-
Design and pricing cabinetry, countertops, installation and accessories as per company policies and pricing guidelines.

Other projects as assigned by the Manager.
Work location:
- In office
- Superior Cabinets Corporate Office in Saskatoon
- Tuesday to Saturday
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Displays accuracy and attention to details in their work
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with and meet multiple individual deadlines
- Ability to meet with clients individually and work through the design / sales experience (front-to-back)
- Knowledge of the construction industry is an asset
- Knowledge in 2020 Kitchen Design software is an asset
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Additional education in construction/trades will be considered an asset
- Project management experience will also be considered an asset
