WHY JOIN OUR TEAM Competitive wages Flexible schedules Discounted employee meals Career growth and development opportunities We’re locally owned and operated Role Summary Reporting to the Manager, Culinary Services/Executive Chef, or designate, the Server is responsible for all aspects of services in the dining room, resident lounges and tray delivery and pick-up providing a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for the residents, guests and the public. Key Accountabilities Execute full-service dining, including the preparation, presentation, and service of food, beverages, and accompaniments in the dining room and lounges. Welcome each resident or guest with friendliness and an eagerness to serve. Attentive to the diners, anticipating their needs and responding in a timely manner. Learning from the culinary managers, the special qualities of each menu item including where the food was sourced, and the story behind it in order to share that story with the diners. Plating each dish to the Chef’s requirements; ensuring it is served at the correct temperature and honours diners requests and preferences. Service includes lunch and dinner, teas, special events and room service through table/tray presentation, delivery and pick up of trays from resident suites (as required), Carry out general cleaning and sanitization duties and routines, including setting and cleaning of tables, chairs and other equipment. Cleaning and keeping tidy preparation and service areas, and carts and equipment. Scraping, stacking, washing dishes, and when required returning them to storage. Carrying out general cleaning of spills and food in the dining and lounge areas as required.
Education & Experience Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year experience in a hotel, restaurant, or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year serving experience. Food Safe Certificate is required. Serving It Right Certification Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy and patience with residents, guests, volunteers and employees Physical and mental fitness to perform all assigned duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs Must be organized and have the ability to multitask in a busy environment. Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and be able to speak and understand English competently. Must be capable of safely and efficiently operating all equipment associated with the duties required for the position. WAT1
