Who you are

The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing non-clinical operations within the Program, ensuring efficient business and project management processes. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations Performance, this role requires close collaboration with the Program Executive Dyad Leadership and Clinical Directors to support program objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a health-related field.
  • Leadership training (LEADS, Leading One Horizon, Cornerstone).
  • Experience in project and change management (e.g., Lean, Prosci).
  • Strong leadership, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical capacity to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Adherence to privacy regulations, including the Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of patient safety and quality care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and managers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate reports and data-driven insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Written and spoken competence in English.
  • Adherence to the Program’s management philosophy and organizational values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources

  • Develop and maintain job descriptions.
  • Assist with reclassification processes as needed.
  • Monitor and provide data on staff mandatory and program-specific learning.
  • Assess human resource utilization and recommend efficiency improvements, while considering both short and long-term implications of proposed changes.
  • Develop innovative solutions to emerging workforce challenges.

Financial Management

  • Review Plan of Establishments (POE) and report discrepancies.
  • Analyze and evaluate budget variances (e.g., sick leave, overtime) and reconcile with managers.
  • Identify budget pressures and assist in requests for funding enhancements.
  • Prepare financial reports and provide data analysis for decision-making.
  • Gather metrics and offer recommendations to leadership.
  • Participate in procurement and RFP processes.
  • Coordinate capital and operating purchase processes.

Strategic Planning and Development

  • Support leadership in setting long-term program goals and strategies.
  • Identify initiatives to enhance patient care, service delivery, and efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of project charters and follow up on action items.
  • Provide project management leadership.
  • Draft briefing notes, proposals, and reports as required.

Quality and Safety Management

  • Conduct incident analyses as required.
  • Ensure unit-level Occupational Health and Safety inspections.
  • Assist with audits (e.g., hand hygiene, recordkeeping, VDT assessments).
  • Analyze and maintain program statistics.
  • Collaborate with Quality Services to collect necessary data.
  • Use data analytics to track performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor KPIs and dashboards, addressing areas of concern.
  • Track project progress, risks, and reporting requirements.
