ABOUT THE ROLE
This position will provide subject matter expertise to strengthen the Region’s workforce in one of the domains of information technology, information management, data and analytics, or technology training, other related areas. The position will take guidance from organizational plans and the corporate learning model and will provide learning to the Region. Partnering with departments, the position will help all business units understand the digital or technology capabilities of their teams, and collaborate to design, promote, deliver and report on skills and competencies.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Collaborates/works with partners and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and direction.
- Champions digital, data or technology literacy in the Region and to partner agencies.
- Contributes towards business transformation activities by identifying ways to improve overall program efficiency and effectiveness; and recommending changes to continuous learning and design thinking tools and processes needed to maintain current and future learning solutions and programs.
- Researches, designs, develops and delivers learning plans and materials for their domain
- Engages with business units to identify appropriate skill and competency opportunities.
- Provides advice on technical learning architecture/learning flow to ensure well-designed and cohesive user experiences.
- Develops new storyboard standards that support design thinking concepts, using various tools and media for highly creative, interactive and engaging learning.
- Conducts needs analysis, surveys and assessments to determine specific learning and development needs and areas requiring support.
- Collaborates with departments to nurture engagement, identify key ambassadors and coordinate actions.
- Builds and nurtures strong relationships with internal partners, including those involved in staff development, communications and strategic policy development to get their assistance.
- Leads, contributes and supports relevant communities of practice and other social learning venues.
- Develops, organizes, oversees or delivers after-care to reinforce learner gains.
- Partners with Corporate Learning to generate staff development strategies and employee outreach programs. Researches, assesses, informs and advocates for learning solutions and practices that can improve all corporate learning programs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a University Degree or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years practical experience in applying learning and development principles, including creating, designing and evaluating learning interventions
- Knowledge in creating, designing, evaluating and implementing learning technologies.
- Business acumen and interpersonal skills to deliver results in a decentralized environment.
- Competencies in group facilitation, communications, project management, and program implementation and evaluation.
- Strong working knowledge of adult learning best practices.
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated ability in technical instructional design, analysis, measurement and evaluative methods, facilitation and presentation skills, and using a variety of learning mediums.
- Solid analytical research, planning, coordination and project management skills with ability to work independently on diverse projects.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate programs and services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a range of internal and external partners while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships.
- Ability to work independently and with teams and with ability to manage competing priorities.
