About the role

POSITION: Elementary General Teacher

ASSIGNMENT: Elementary (K-7)

FTE: 0.2

LOCATION: Wells/Bakerville Elementary School

EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2026 and continuing

Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:

**Training Specialization: **Elementary Education with specialization at the primary/intermediate level

**Related Teaching Experience: **Recent successful experience teaching at the primary/intermediate level

**A Reasonable Expectation: **based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

  • Exemplary experience as a classroom teacher
  • Willingness to work as part of a team in the development and implementation of the School Growth Plan
  • Commitment to working as a member of the school-based team

  • Commitment to First Peoples Principles of Learning to create a healthy, supportive learning environment
  • Knowledge and skill in current practices in assessment for learning
  • Schedule as arranged by school principal

The annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
