ABI Rehabilitation is a leader in the field of brain injury rehabilitation and an accredited provider of post-acute, residential, and community-based rehabilitation. We are the only provider in Australasia to have attained CARF Accreditation, an international gold standard for person centred quality rehabilitation. We have a strong client and whānau focus and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi through the implementation of Te Hekenga-ā-ora (ABI’s Māori Development Plan 2022-2025), to ensure equitable outcomes.
ABI Rehabilitation has an opportunity for a Social Worker to join our progressive interdisciplinary team. This role provides social work services in our inpatient/residential brain injury facility, supporting clients and whānau to navigate their rehabilitation journey and transition back to the community. The applicant must have excellent communication and a demonstrated track record of teamwork to provide specialist social work services to clients presenting with acquired brain injury.
The caseload is varied and includes completion of effective social work interventions to enhance the client and whānau recovery journey, whānau/client counselling and liaison, working within an interdisciplinary model that aligns with the values of ABI Rehabilitation, operating in an environment most appropriate to the clients’ social and cultural needs.
The successful applicant will work in partnership with other team members including the client, therapists, nursing team, and funders to achieve person-centered outcomes, and will be a registered member of SWRB NZ. A minimum of three years post-graduate experience with a minimum of two years’ experience working with clients who have neurological impairments, or advanced practice in a rehabilitation setting, is preferable.
