About the role
Job Summary
The Sr. Air Export Cargo Agent is to manage day-to-day transactions for air export deliveries. They are expected to execute accurate documentation, secure bookings with appropriate airlines, ensure compliance in all facets of the tendering process, including but not limited to dangerous goods requirements, and utilize required software programs to submit shipments for movement. They must also facilitate all communications in a timely manner to airlines, global partners and customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Process air exports for various customers Coordinate with trucking companies for the pick-up of cargo from shipper Prepare check-in sheets and assign HAWB numbers for shipments Coordinate with shipper for all required documents (e.g. Commercial Invoice, Export Declaration, Export Permits, etc.)
Process shipment using Nippon Express’ AS400 system
Coordinate with shipper, airlines, Nippon Express warehouse personnel as well as any Nippon Express overseas offices involved in any aspects related to Air Export shipments Prepare air export quotations as well as customer invoices Produce various reports that include monthly perishable reports/insurance report, CASS report, and sales report Maintain company standards and procedures Notify warehouse personnel of any scheduled pick up outside carriers Follow company policies regarding handling of Air Cargo Assist Air Cargo Supervisor with their duties when required in their absence Various other tasks as may be required Qualifications/Competences: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Air Export operations Strong understanding and knowledge of the freight forwarding industry Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Excellent customer service skills; ability to assess customers’ needs, how to meet the quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
Strong time management skills; able to prioritize tasks
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines Very strong written and verbal communication skills and good reading comprehension skills.
Ability to think critically and use logic and reason to solve problems
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word Education/Certification: College Diploma or greater Freight Forwarder certification from accredited institution (asset) IATA/ICAO Dangerous Goods certification (an asset) ACR (Authorized Cargo Representative) certificate (an asset) What We Offer!
