About the role

Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Band 7)

Walk‑In Service: – Out of Hours Urgent Care (GMED)

Aberdeen Health Village

The Walk‑In Service, hosted by the Out of Hours Primary Care (GMED) team, is seeking to recruit an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic and responsive urgent care service.

Walk‑In services provide same‑day access to urgent primary care without the need for a booked appointment and form part of a major national pilot programme funded by the Scottish Government. This innovative programme is helping to shape future models of urgent and unscheduled care across Scotland.

This role would suit an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner who is confident working autonomously in a fast‑paced urgent care environment, and who is motivated to contribute to the ongoing development of a new service model.

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within the Walk‑In Centre, you will provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral for patients across the age spectrum presenting with undifferentiated illness, minor and major injury, and urgent medical conditions. You will work closely with GP colleagues, the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, safe and person‑centred care.

You will practise with a high level of clinical autonomy, supported by evidence‑based practice, NHS Grampian policies and professional guidelines, and will play an active role in service development, audit, education and clinical leadership within the Walk‑In Service.

Posts available: 0.5 WTE, 18.5hours per week

Location: Aberdeen Health Village

Flexibility is essential, as the role includes evening and weekend working, and post‑holders will be expected to contribute to service cover arrangements, including colleague annual and study leave.

Enhanced pay rates apply for agreed evening and weekend working.
