Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay Rate: $23.34/hour
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement – Overtime after 88 hours
Overview
Paladin Security is seeking a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator to join our team at the Government of Ontario Office.
The SOC Operator will be responsible for coordinating field personnel, monitoring security systems, and ensuring operational readiness during all hours. This critical position acts as the communications and command hub—maintaining safety, compliance, and effective coordination among security teams, contractors, and building staff.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate dispatching of security and maintenance personnel to calls for service.
- Operate two-way communication systems to direct field staff efficiently.
- Monitor access control, CCTV, and fire & life safety systems to ensure site security.
- Review system data and logs for incident follow-up and management review.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all activities and communications.
- Coordinate third-party contractor activities, from ID issuance to worksite supervision.
- Respond to incidents and emergencies, coordinating with emergency services when required.
- Manage daily operational duties, including task allocation, report updates, and break scheduling.
- Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and the public.
Requirements
Must Have Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a commercial or government security environment.
- Previous leadership and supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of control center procedures and dispatch operations.
- Excellent working knowledge of access control, CCTV, and life safety systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and report writing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification (WSIB-approved).
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses).
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HVAC, sprinkler, elevator, and other building systems.
- Emergency response training or prior coordination experience.
- Familiarity with Access Control/CCTV/Fire & Life Safety system interfaces.
- Ability to complete job-related courses in advanced security systems and disciplines.
