**Current shifts available:**Full Time Night Shift - Sunday to Thursday 11pm-7:30am

**Position status:**existing vacancy

**Wage:**50-62K based on experience

Position Summary:

The Dispatcher is responsible for managing and coordinating the overnight dispatch operations for LTL and full truckload freight across Ontario and Quebec. This role ensures seamless continuity of service during off-peak hours, maintaining communication with drivers, monitoring freight movement, and resolving any issues that arise during the night shift.

What you will do:

Overnight Dispatching:

  • Plan and monitor overnight LTL and FTL shipments, ensuring timely pickups, deliveries, and transfers;

  • Track driver progress using GPS and TMS tools, adjusting plans as needed to address delays or disruptions;

  • Ensure all loads are dispatched in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.

Driver Communication & Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during the overnight shift;

  • Provide clear instructions, respond to inquiries, and assist with route or equipment issues;

  • Ensure drivers are compliant with Hours of Service (HOS) and safety regulations.

Issue Resolution:

  • Respond to service disruptions, breakdowns, or customer concerns in real time;

  • Escalate critical issues to management or maintenance teams as necessary.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, driver logs, and shipment status;

  • Ensure compliance with provincial transportation regulations (CVOR, ELD, etc.).

Shift Handover:

  • Prepare detailed shift reports and communicate key updates to the day dispatch team;

  • Ensure smooth transition between shifts to maintain operational continuity.

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience in LTL and/or FTL transportation;

  • Strong understanding of Ontario and Quebec transportation routes and regulations;

  • Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office;

  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills;

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Bilingual (English/French) is a strong asset;

  • Experience working night shifts or in 24/7 transportation environments;

  • Familiarity with cross-dock operations and freight consolidation;

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities;

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently during critical morning hours;

  • Team player who supports drivers, customer service, and management;

  • Calm under pressure with professional demeanor during tight capacity situations;

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities throughout the shift;

  • Strong work ethic and accountability for daily operational success;

  • Proactive planner who thinks multiple days ahead;

  • Detail-oriented with commitment to accurate documentation.
